Early Life:
The late Sri Venkat Rao and Srimathi Anjana Devi’s son is named Vara Prasad. He was born on August 22, 1955 in Mogallturu, an Indian town located on the banks of the Godavari River in the West Godavari District. His father was a constable and frequently moved about in his job. He grew up with his grandparents in the village where he was born.
He has two brothers and two sisters. The actor and film producer Nagendra Babu is his younger brother. His younger brother, Pawan Kalyan, is also an actor. In addition to Nidadavolu, Chiranjeevi also studied in Gurajala, Bapatla, Ponnuru, Mangalagiri, and Mogalturu. He attended C.S.R.Sharma Junior College in Ongole after finishing high school.
He then earned a B.Com degree from Y.N. College in Narasapur. He studies for the NCC. As an NCC cadet in the early 1970s, Chiranjeevi took part in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. Following his graduation from Y.N. College in Narsapuram in 1977, Chiranjeevi relocated to Chennai in order to pursue an acting career.
Personal Life:
On February 20, 1980, Chiranjeevi married Surekha, a daughter of renowned comedian Allu Rama Lingaiah. He has three kids: a son, Ram Charan Teja, and two daughters, Susmitha and Sreeja.
Political Life:
Since 2007, political and media circles have eagerly anticipated Chiranjeevi’s entry into politics. While it was said in the media that he was gathering opinions in the second half of 2007, it was also implied that he would make the announcement in January 2008.
Many Andhra Pradesh prominent politicians, including Harirama Jogaiah of the Congress Party, K. Vidyadhar Rao, B. Nagi Reddy, Tammineni Seetharam, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, and many more from the Telugu Desam Party, publicly announced their intention to join the party before the party even officially launched.

The party obtained 18 of the 294 seats it sought, and in 2011 it was combined with the Indian National Congress. On October 27, 2012, Chiranjeevi was named Minister of State with independent charge for the Ministry of Tourism, a position he held till May 15, 2014. At the 66th Cannes Film Festival in 2013, he launched the Incredible India Exhibition, a collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Career :
With Punadhirallu, Chiranjeevi launched his acting career in 1978. [8] Pranam Khareedu, on the other hand, had an earlier theatrical debut. Recognitions, honours, and awards:
K. Balachander, the filmmaker, remarked “Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth can both be found in Chiranjeevi. He can both do and act, in other words.” The third-highest civilian honour in India, the Padma Bhushan, was awarded to Chiranjeevi in 2006. During the same year, Andhra University conferred an Honorary Doctorate upon him. He has won the Nandi Awards four times and the Filmfare Awards South ten times. Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor presented him with the International Face of Indian Cinema award in 2014 at the 3rd South Indian International Movie Awards. In 1987, he became the first South Indian actor to be invited to the Oscars.
Humatarian Works of Chiranjeevi:
He established the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust (CCT), which incorporates the Chiranjeevi Blood and Eye Banks, on October 2, 1998. It is the biggest recipient of blood and eye donations in the state.
The AP State Government has given CCT the “Best Voluntary Blood Bank Award” for the previous four years. Abdul Kalam, who was India’s president at the time, launched the Chiranjeevi Charitable Foundation (CCF) on June 10, 2006, in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills Check Post.
Chiranjeevi participated in the Green Challenge, which Narendra Choudary Tummala launched, in July 2018. Chiranjeevi established oxygen banks and ambulances across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in May 2021 to cater to the needs of COVID-19 patients.
